April 2, 2014 (QUEZON CITY) - The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) and The Filipino Channel (TFC) renew their ties today at formal ceremonies at the Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center in Quezon City, Philippines to address the information and welfare needs of the estimated 10.5 million Filipinos all over the world.





Two Sentenced for Violating the Anti-Mail Order Bride Law



The Quezon City Regional Trial Court rendered its judgement against two accused, Celia Rumusod Gorospe and Jinalyn “Anne” Jaicten Inao and found them guilty of violating the Republic Act 6955 or the Anti-Mail Order Bride Act. They were convicted for matching, offering and contracting marriage between Filipinos and foreign nationals for profit.

Overseas Filipino voters may register starting May 6, 2014

Notice is hereby given that under Republic Act No. 9189, otherwise known as “The Overseas Absentee Voting Act of 2003”, as amended by Republic Act No. 10590, all citizens of the Philippines abroad, who are not otherwise disqualified by law, at least eighteen (18) years of age on the day of the elections, and who are registered overseas voters, may vote for President, Vice-President, Senators and Party-List Representatives.
